New Delhi, Jagran Correspondent. An attempt was made to defraud crores of rupees by forging signatures in the bank account of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. Due to the vigilance of the bank officer, the fraud was caught. The fraudsters forged the signature of the ministry official on the check and sent it to the SBI bank account of the finance department of the ministry. The thugs also gave the government letter to the bank for encashing the check.
When the bank manager checked the check, he got suspicious. With this, he sent a mail to the financial department of the ministry asking for information about the check. It was found that the said checks have not been issued by the department. The signature on the check was also found to be forged. Officials also said that the ministry has no information about the check. Fraudsters sent two checks in two months
The fraudsters had sent two separate checks in October and November last year. The first check was for Rs 7.6 crore. Andy Creation’s name was written on this check. The date of October 26 was written on this check, while the second check was of November 30. This check was for Rs 11 crore. The name of a company was written on this check. On the other hand, two declared miscreants who robbed by strangulation in Dabri police station area have been arrested by the police. With the arrest of the accused, the police claimed to have solved seven cases of robbery. Police have recovered four mobile phones, Rs 3200, a stolen motorcycle from their possession.
Dwarka District Deputy Commissioner of Police M Harsh Vardhan said that among the two arrested accused are Satveer and Naseem, residents of Bindapur. Both are declared miscreants of Dabri police station. Satveer has ten cases of robbery and snatching and Naseem has three cases including attempt to murder. According to the police, on the night of July 7, at 9:15, the police got information about the robbery in Dabri area. The complainant said that two youths who came from behind smothered him and fled after robbing two mobiles, money and documents.
The police team led by Inspector Kamlesh, in-charge of Anti-Vehicle Theft Squad of the district, scanned the footage of CCTV cameras around the spot and identified the accused. The police team raided their possible hideouts and arrested them on July 9 from near Talab Wala Park. The bike recovered from the miscreants was stolen from Mohan Garden area.
