PM Modi Nepal visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at Maya Devi temple in Nepal on the occasion of Buddha Purnima on Monday. Prime Minister Modi was accompanied by his Nepalese counterpart Sher Bahadur Deuba on his visit to this historic temple located in Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha. The Indian Prime Minister’s Office said in a tweet: “The Nepal tour begins with the offering of prayers at the holy Maya Devi temple in Lumbini. Nepal’s Foreign Ministry tweeted, “On the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, the two Prime Ministers offered prayers at the Maya Devi Temple in Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha. On his arrival in Lumbini, Prime Minister Deuba himself welcomed Modi.
